I have put two new paintings on ebay today. They are a sort of reverse of my usual paintings (or they feel like they are a reverse when I am painting them). Instead of black, coloured or shimmering ink outlines my two new paintings have white outlines as shown here.

To get this effect I have not used white ink or paint, just left the paper white. This means that I have to think carefully where I want the elements of the painting to be and work from the 'photo' I have in my head of how I want the painting to look. Each painting is done freehand with no pencil lines.

The second painting is the first of a new poem of paintings. I received a commission for a counting set of beach huts - One beach hut ….. Two beach huts….. Three Beach Huts. For a child's room. I really liked this idea and am now painting a new series for general sale. I hope to have a new on up each day (Children permitting)!!

One Beach Hut is shown below

Waiting For You - New Painting

Here is a new painting I have just listed on etsy. It is a small 4 x 4 inch painting but will be matted/mounted in a 10 x 8 inch plain white mount so it is ready to pop straight in to a frame. You can buy standard size frames from almost anywhere now from supermarkets and bargain shops to DIY stores and, of course framing shops so having the painting ready to pop in to one makes it much easier and quicker (not to mention cheaper) for you to get the painting on your wall.

I will be selling most of my paintings with mounts from now on with the exception of ACEOs. Many aceo (stands for "Art Cards, Editions and Originals" which are little 3.5 x 2.5 inch paintings) collectors have their own special way of displaying these which means that mounting them may conflict with what the buyer wants. I do however have some lovely pure white mounts for this size painting which I will list as extras in my shop for those of you who simply want to display them as little paintings.

Take a look at my new painting at etsy by clicking here or on the photo.

Here also is a screen shot of when my painting showed up in "recently listed items" I thought I would add this as I really like the hats that are shown in this shot. They are hand made and I think perfect for the summer (if we ever get any real sun!). You can see more of them at the sellers etsy shop at www.sookie.etsy.com. I am just waiting for someone to buy a paintng now so I can buy a hat!

Thanks for stopping by

Watercolour on Paper

Monday, 26 May 2008

I really must try and blog a bit more regularly! Thanks to the appalling weather, I have got loads done today, including this blog post! I finished 3 commissions ahead of time, packed 2 orders from my website and listed a couple of paintings on eBay, plus I finished sorting through my collection of pens and pencils (cannot resist a new or sparkly colour and I now have so many!)

Here are my recent paintings, both are ACEO size and are listed on ebay for 10 days. Each has been created with watercolour, pen and finished off with sparkly coloured inks. Enjoy……..

New Sunset Beach Hut painting

I have got so many paintings finished today. I work on many at a time, filling in the different colours.

This one is headed for ebay.

I have just started listing my paintings at auction on eBay again after a break for an exhibition. I listed this painting tonight, it features three beach huts with a beautiful sunset backdrop. This is an ACEO size painting so only measures 3.5 x 2.5 inches and would be perfect to add to your collection or even to start your ACEO collection off.
Please click the photo to view the auction.

I have completed several other paintings today.

Make money from your blog

Blogging to the Bank 2 -

Blogging has been around for a few years now. Most people use blogs to record
their thoughts and lives, many artists use blogs to promote their work but miss out on the full potential of making real income from their blogs. fortune.

One guy who uses blogs to bring in money is Rob Benwell. Last year he dished the
dirt on the tips and tricks to making a fortune using blogging. But as time passes the old systems become obsolete and new techniques are required. This is where his brand new, fresh off the press blogging to the bank 2 system comes into play.

Click here for more information about how to make a profit from your blog

For those who know who Rob Benwell is like me, you’ve probably made a killing using blogs.

For those who don’t, he’s the story:

Back in 2005 he was struggling to make any profit online, had dropped out of college and was getting deep into debt. He was trying all the techniques the gurus tell you and wasn’t getting anywhere fast. All of that went in the bin and he started using his own techniques and started making more and more money using simple blogs. In early 2006 he shared this with the world and had a great ebook called blogging to the bank. Tons of people got rich from using these techniques (including me). He then spoke at Online Marketing Legend Yanik Silver’s underground Seminar where he revealed even more of his underground strategies.

But as I said earlier, the techniques used in that ebook are now showing there age. Some of them are not even working in the slightest! This is where blogging to the bank 2 comes into play.

It’s full of great new techniques that work online right now! Everything’s explained in plain English with all the fluff cut out. I recently bought a copy of this excellent ebook and it has been worth every single penny! I bought it in the monring and by the evening (as well as starting a couple of paintings, packing three and taking them to the post office) I was able to turn my blog around to start making money and decided to also start a new blogs. Within a couple of days of them being active I had made a nice little profit.

Blogging To The Bank 2 teaches you Robs new step by step blueprint to creating highly profitable long term niche blogs using the newest optimization techniques. There’s even a section on advanced Search Engine Optimization. Most people think SEO is difficult but Rob explains this nice and simply so even the blogging newbie will understand it. The whole book is a lovely step by step process to help you create a blog that will bring in extra money.

Blogging To The Bank 2 is a breath of fresh air and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make easy money online.
